"All dogs are short sighted and have a bad sight at distance. Some breeds, for their eyes and orbit anatomic characteristic, may have a larger or shorter grade of myopia. This myopia explains some dog attacks to their own owners at night, when the animal distinguishes even less and sometimes, due to the winds direction, cannot perceive their odor."
People are capable of repeating absolutely technical things, without even thinking a bit about them.
Remember that they already proved that the earth was plan, supported by four columns which remained on the shells of four giant turtles... They only couldnt explain where those turtles remained, and that they should move in synchronism not to let the world fall, and what they used to eat.
With this story it is the same thing, do you want to see?
Something really impressive was the fantastic oculist that made the eyesight examination on dogs to diagnose the myopia.
I wonder which would be the characters that the dogs had to read, or then, how the hi-tech oculist made the examination by computer, asking the dog to stand still with the forehead attached to the bulwark, looking straight in the tube, to the bell of the churche's tower... etc... etc.
Studying, just a little, ethology, we will read something about the importance level of the five canine senses in relation to the human ones.
A dog does not recognize a photography but he is able to watch TV. Why?
Because dogs are not worried (as we do) with the shape of objects. For him, it doesnt matter if you have blue eyes or beard, earrings, glasses or any other piece of clothing at all.
The important thing for the animals is the rituals... of love, of submission and pacification, of leadership etc. That means: the movement. On TV, the image has movement.
They recognize their
owner by the way they move, no matter if he wears a mask or lipstick.
If he comes home drunk and speaking smooth, you can imagine...
In the same way that the sight sense is the most important one for us, the one through which, we recognize people, the dogs sense is the scent, through which, after being born and before opening his eyes and ears, he finds his mothers nipples.
"Actually, the most acceptable hypothesis is that the dogs are able to see only some colors, like blue and yellow. The rest of the colors would be detected as gray variations."
I get even more impressed with certain theories that will never be proved. People have so many fantasies...
To this day nobody knows how a daltonic sees. We only know that certain lengths of waves are not perceived or are confused, for a genetic deficiency of cones and baton shaped cells that form the retina, but nobody knows how a daltonic see colors, but nobody ever got daltonic or was cured of it to tell us what the difference is.
However those hi-tech scientists already know to describe even which colors dogs dont see. Some even say and grant that the dogs see in black and white.
The black-and-white doesnt exist in nature. It was created by man to fulfill his incompetence of representing the colors: he got a burned stick and scratched it on the cavern walls. The colors obtained through earth pigments came after that. The black-and-white photographs, also, appeared due to the initial incapacity of representing the colors. The sight organ (independently of which animal we are talking about) notices the wave lenghts of the colors reflected by the objects. Depending on the pigment, the color, part of the light struck on the objects will be reflected and the other part will be absorbed, the retina will be reached and it will notice only the reflected portion of light. The black objects absorb all the electro-magnetic waves of the visible spectrum struck, and the white objects reflect all the wave lenghts, independently of the intensity of the striking light. More light, the object will look lighter, less light, it will look darker. The dogs see the shapes and the colors the same way we do, but their sense importance hierarchy is totally different from ours:
| Humans: | 1- Sight; | 2- Touch; | 3- Audition; | 4- Smell; | 5- Taste. |
| Canins: | 1- Smell; | 2- Audition; | 3- Sight; | 4- Touch; | 5- Taste |
